Notes from the education beat

Hello. I am the education reporter at a small daily newspaper in Illinois. Even though we’re small, I cover a lot of school districts with a lot of different issues. Chiefly, I deal with three K-12 school districts, two private colleges and one community college. There are also about 10 other K-12 districts in our area, and I sometimes deal with those as well.

Education is something which touches everyone’s life, regardless of age, so things happening in our schools should warrant everyone’s attention.
